What is dryland training?Dryland training takes place outside the pool and focuses on the core skills that underpin diving performance. It allows divers to safely learn and refine movements before taking them into the water.

Who is dryland for?
Dryland is an important part of training for all divers, from beginners through to competitive and performance pathways.
- Recreational divers helps build confidence and learn foundational skills (dryland sessions only available on pool exclusion days or during holiday training)
- Competitive divers use dryland to refine technique and progress more quickly
- Performance divers rely on dryland for advanced skill development and conditioning
What to wear and bring
To get the most out of each session, we recommend:

Where and when
Dryland sessions take place at our dryland facility at Parakiore Recreation and Sport Centre. Head up to level 3, and at the top of the main stairs, take the smaller set of stairs on your left to access the dry diving area.
Some programmes include dedicated dryland sessions, while others incorporate dryland as part of their overall training schedule.
